Antonio Hurtado is a Reader and Turing AI Fellow at the Institute of Photonics of the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.

With over fifteen years of international research experience in photonics, he has a distinguished career spanning universities in the UK, USA, and Spain. His research interests lie in the burgeoning field of photonics for neuromorphic computing and AI.

Dr. Antonio Hurtado established the Neuromorphic Photonics research group at the University of Strathclyde, focusing on developing novel ultrafast photonic components and systems that emulate the brain’s processing power for next-generation, light-based AI.
